Landmarc 'proud' to partner the White Horse Soapbox Derby
Landmarc Support Services has worked in partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) for 20 years, providing services on the UK military training estate that enable Armed Forces from around the world to prepare for frontline military operations. This includes Salisbury Plain Training Area in Wiltshire, home of the White Horse Soapbox Derby.
Changing locations was a key part to the ongoing success and viability of the soapbox, so when Landmarc offered to help secure various vital areas on top of the white horse site, we knew they believed in this project as much as we do.
Since then the relationships has grown into a true partnership, with Landmarc on board as our event partner for 2024. Here's what their head of communications and engagement, Karen Porter said:
The White Horse Soap Box Derby is an excellent opportunity to support the local community in Wiltshire and engage with young people about future career opportunities, as well as putting our own engineering skills to the test as we prepare to send our own teams hurtling down the picturesque chalk escarpment above Westbury!
One of the key elements of being an event partner at the White Horse Soapbox Derby is that you buy into our mantra. INSPIRATION. EDUCATION. EMPLOYMENT. It's not just about money. So we're beyond happy that Landmarc are going all in on the day, bringing with them a recruitment section to actively share job opportunities available in the area, plus all the educational info regarding the Salisbury Plain site. Oh, and Karen said, they're even building karts for the race !
Part of our service to provide a safe and sustainable place to train for our Armed Forces includes a commitment to support people in the communities that live and work around the sites that we manage…including the employment opportunities we provide, the stewardship of the natural capital of the training estate and our support for local community projects,' Porter said. We are proud to be a part of it and wish all the competitors every success,' she added.
Westbury Town Council runs the white horse soapbox derby with our event partner Landmarc and corporate sponsors making amazing contributions for it's continued success.
We'll see you on May 18th !
